No Risk Renos™
You’ve heard the horror stories and watched the dramatic TV shows! At RENOVANTAGE™, we know it doesn’t have to be that way. We have developed two unique programs that reduce the risk of renovating your home. There aren’t any other programs available to homeowners that even come close to matching the assurances we provide.
Each Certified RENOVANTAGE™ Contractor will provide Performance Guarantee issued by RENOVANTAGE™. The Performance Guarantee will act as a performance bond to ensure that the contractor completes its obligations per the agreement. In the event that the contractor does not complete its obligations in a satisfactory manner, RENOVANTAGE™ will step in to assign another contractor and will use the Performance Guarantee.
In order for the Performance Guarantee to be effective for any Agreement between a Client and a Certified Renovantage Contractor, the Certified Renovantage Contractor must submit an application to Renovantage by completing the designated form on its website. If the Certified Renovantage Contractor is in good standing, Renovantage will issue a Performance Guarantee Certificate to the Client indicating the Effective Date and the project address. Until Renovantage issues the Performance Guarantee Certificate, the Performance Guarantee is not in effect.
Click here to complete the Performance Guarantee Form to register your project. All projects must be registered in order for the Performance Guarantee to be effective.
Dispute Resolution Services
In those rare situations where the contractor and homeowner disagree, RENOVANTAGE™ has devised a fast and cost-effective process for resolving these matters. As part of our Standard Agreement, the parties agree to utilize the RENOVANTAGE™ Dispute Resolutions Services and to share equally in the expenses of the appointed mediator and/or arbitrator. Here’s how it works:
RENOVANTAGE™ shall appoint an independent Mediator who will visit the job site and meet with the contractor and client to discuss the issues within 3 business days. The Mediator will be either a licensed Engineer or Architect who is a knowledgeable expert on home renovations.
The Mediator will document the agreed upon resolution or write a report with his assessment to RENOVANTAGE™.
If the parties do not agree on problem resolution following a mediation meeting, a Binding Arbitration meeting will be scheduled to occur within 2 weeks, assuring a speedy resolution. The independent Arbitrator will listen to each party’s position, review the Mediator’s report and issue a judgment.
Following an arbitration ruling, it is expected that the Contractor and Client will agree to complete the project per the original contract terms or as amended as a result of the Arbitration ruling. If one or both of the parties do not agree to proceed with project completion then:
In the event that a ruling in favor of the homeowner, RENOVANTAGE™ shall make its best efforts to appoint a new Certified RENOVANTAGE™ Contractor to complete the work per the original terms. If necessary, RENOVANTAGE™ will have some or all the Performance Guarantee released and will apply the amount to cover any additional expenses incurred above the original contract.
